Direct Casks —

Although the majority of our casks sales go through the Cask Club offerings and to Private Cask Clubs created for members, we are able to offer casks of whisky for 100% outright direct sale. Previously sourced casks have included Macallan, Bowmore, Ardbeg, Carsebridge and many others from very young spirit to 1980’s vintages anything is possible.

As part of the wide-ranging cask whisky services offered by Dramfool Cask Management we will happily undertake to source whisky to client specifications. This is done under our normal terms and conditions.

We receive cask lists from brokers every week so the offerings are every changing. If you would like to discuss this further please make contact directly and we will happily advise on availability, value and costs.

To do this we need to know your ideal specifications of distillery, minimum or preferred age and preferred cask type. If you have an upper budget in mind this will also help us tailor the casks we can offer to you – we will happily advise on what we expect a cask of your specifications to cost and if your hopes are achievable.

Important points to remember:

Not all distilleries, ages or cask types are readily if ever available.

Many cask whiskies sold are done so with the express intent that the distillery name should not be used on any final bottlings. Likewise no associated  branding, Trade Marks or intellectual property of the distillery should be used in any form. Dramfool Casks (unless bottling your cask) takes no responsibility for how it is labelled when bottled.

Each single cask whisky is different and while the tradition of a distillery and its casks will give an indication of what the product may taste like it is no guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the product it cannot be returned or refunded, but we will make every effort to re broker the sale on your behalf at a 5% + VAT commission. No guarantee on sale value or time frame can be given for this.

Cask buying, particularly of premium casks, is very competitive and on a strictly first come first served basis. While every effort will be made to secure a cask on your behalf it is rare to be able to have them held for even a short time to consider the purchase.

Angles Share, it should be remembered that there will be a loss in alcohol and volume while the product matures, this fluctuates but we anticipate that this may amount to up to 2% loss per annum. Any Re-Gauge figures supplied may be slightly off the current levels but we will advise if we feel it is likely to be a greatly different. We also advise re-gauging your cask within 6 months to confirm levels and that there are no leaks.

How It Works:

Once we have received from you a wish list of cask/s we will endeavour to source these for you.

We will present a list of suitable casks with prices when they become available. These prices are not negotiable and will include our finders fee. We will additionally supply costs for 1 years storage and insurance where the cask currently resides. This fee may also be due on purchase of cask unless you wish to make other arrangements or request we make other arrangements for the storage of your cask.

When purchase is agreed we require a 50% deposit within 48 hours and the balance within 7 days of invoice date. Both payments must be by bank transfer.

Upon receipt of final payment title of the cask will be transferred to you and a delivery order supplied confirming this.

No part of the cask or contents will be the property of the buyer until full cleared payment is received. All goods remain the full property of Dramfool Cask Management until that point.
